Never be alarmed or amazed about the affairs of persons who are dedicated to sin. Even if it looks hopeless, for the believer there is always hope through Jesus Christ. Remain calm even in the midst of turmoil.

Have you not heard that the calmest place in a hurricane is in the eye of the storm. God will not always shield us from every storm. But thanks be to God when he puts in the center of the eye of the storm. Often times the route to that place of calmness requires trampling through the storm's bands. Even in that God pushes, pulls and even drags us to the calm place. Note that trouble, uncertainty, despair and other emotions are often entrance ways for God to enter on the scene of our lives.

If you are struggling, going through, feeling overwhelmed, out of solutions, congratulations!!!! God is Up to Something in your life right now. Look for God to manifest His presence on your behalf at the right time for the right situation. Be comforted in knowing that He will never leave you or forsake you.Kevin M. Jackson, M.A., M. Take all of the lessons learned; good and bad, and use them as your spiritual curriculum for 2015. You thought that you would not make it, yet you still stand and you still thrive. Yes, you have some wounds, injuries and punctures but the enemy of your soul has not prevailed.

The days ahead will still have challenges, but recognize where your strength and help came from since the beginning of the year. It came from Christ. Christ the ruler of heaven and earth. Christ, the redeemer of mankind. Christ, the forgiver of sins and transgressions. Christ, the one who can speak one word and revolutionize your life. It is Christ who is, who shall be our everlasting help and support.

A New Day is Dawning, know that it will not always be like it is right now. There will not be any challengeless days, but you will experience more victories ahead. Yes, you will be tempted, but you will prevail. You will come short of His glory, but you will be forgiven. Yes, you will struggle, but the struggle will build up your spiritual muscles.

Hold on! Don't give up! A New Day is Dawning.Kevin M. Jackson, M.A., M. Div.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00851550388029720495noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1207220010660358499.post-35196476475931065442014-08-28T04:54:00.001-07:002014-11-01T17:58:07.754-07:00Connected!In this day and time it is absolutely difficult to find genuine people who are real and sincere. Well, on yesterday, August 27, 2014, I had the opportunity to realize that there are "real people" even behind the social media avatar.

I met Pastor Marlon Harvin on Twitter. His tweets were always inspirational and informative. Many were so profound that they warranted to be retweeted. Well, after I felt a shift in my focus regarding priorities and social media, I decided to cease participation in twitter and facebook. As a result, there were a few people whom I was connected with on Twitter that I felt I could continue to fellowship with and Pastor Marlon was one of them.

On yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit Pentecostal Holiness Church (PHC)-Churchland for a book signing. Several months ago Pastor Marlon informed me that he was conducting a bible series around the title of my devotional book, "When God Speaks". He shared how his members were enjoying the book. Well, I shared with him that I would be more than happy to come and share with his congregation regarding my book.

Saints, I had a marvelous time. My wife and I were so blessed by the genuine love and friendliness of all of the members of PHC. What we experienced could not have been pulled off if it was fake. The bottom line, PHC members were being the "real church". There was no pull, no attitudes, nothing but a great demonstration of being Christ-like.

In this day and time "realness" is often none existent, but it is ever present at PHC. I can say upon personally meeting this man of God and his lovely wife, he is the same anointed person I connected with on Twitter as he was in person.

Additionally, I stayed and attended the Bible study. Pastor Marlon's mother prayed us into the presence of God. She is such a lovely and saintly woman. Thank God for the remnant of truly saved people in this last hour. Pastor Marlon shared a profound and relevatory word. I was blessed and took tons of notes. I am not easily moved by just anything, so this brother came packing with the anointing of God.

Finally beloved, it is so crucial to ensure that you are connected with like-minded saints. Whomever you allow in your life really represents your character. I am proud and grateful to God for a genuine friend that I have found in Pastor Marlon and the church family of PHC. We are "connected"!
Division has a way of making relationships, organizations, and families weaker because the benefit of each individual's contribution is not realized in discord. Marriages fall apart because of division. Business close their doors because of infighting within the ranks, countries become desolate because of sectarian violence. The bottom line is division is dangerous.
However, there is an alternative. In fact, Christ presents it to his disciples in Matthew 18: 19-20. The message bible says it this way, "18-20 “Take this most seriously: A yes on earth is yes in heaven; a no on earth is no in heaven. What you say to one another is eternal. I mean this. When two of you get together on anything at all on earth and make a prayer of it, my Father in heaven goes into action. And when two or three of you are together because of me, you can be sure that I’ll be there.” Oh, now we have another option! Instead of division there can be agreement.
First, Christ encouraged the believers to embrace the concept that it does not take a crowd to get God to move. In fact, He stated, if two of you get together and pray about, God would move on the behalf of those two people. So the first principle concerning agreement is you do not need a crowd to see the hand of God move.
Second, Christ told them they had to come together. They must be in harmony and agreement. In other words, those two people have to be saying and focusing on the same result. They are on one accord. This has been demonstrated in Acts 2:1-2. The 120 in the Upper Room waited and worshiped on one accord and as a result God moved and the Holy Ghost fell and filled everyone in the house. Therefore, the second principle is you must come into alignment with a like minded person.
Finally, Christ told them once they are in alignment and agreement God would move. Oftentimes people spend to much time trying to force a God who cannot be forced to do anything. However, He will honor his will and word regarding his people. The key is to come into agreement with something that God has already said and he has obligated himself to follow through as a promise. So as you seek to receive healing, deliverance, spiritual gifts, etc... ensure to find at least one other believer. Come into alignment with them regarding the same will of God and God will in turn move on your behalf. The Power of Agreement!

Indeed He is the greatest role model for anyone who really wants to get close to God. There simply is no one else who has the inside information about how God operates and what He expects from us. Jesus knows the inside scoop.

I marvel at the discipline Christ had as he maneuvered through His earthly ministry. He possessed so much focus, determination and exactness about what He was called to do. However, if we get so caught-up in the results of His ministry, we can very well miss the essence of His success in ministry. Jesus was a man of prayer.

In Luke 11:1 the first sentence has a powerful revelation for anyone who wants to really be used by God. The text states, " He was praying in a certain place, and after he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples."

Wow! What an insightful text. First, Christ was praying. Christ took the time to communicate with God even though He was anointed and appointed. Don't miss this! If Jesus, the savior of the world, the healer, the miracle worker, had to pray, what about you and me?

Prayer is simple conversation with the Lord. You talk with God based on how much you have to say to Him. The focus is not on how much you say to Him, but rather that you are constantly in communication with Him.

Secondly, Christ had a "certain place". We must carve out time and space to be in communication with the Lord. It is not enough just to have some "drive by prayers" throughout the day, but we must make a deliberate effort to sit down at a "certain time" and "certain place" to spend quality time with the Father.

Finally, Jesus demonstrated that our disciplined prayer life can become contagious. His disciples observed Him praying and immediately wanted to learn the principles of prayer. If we would buckle down and communicate with God on a regular basis, carve out a "certain time and place", then others will begin to see the results and fruit of our lives.

Take note of this! The most important thing that they will observe is how you were able to achieve the results and receive the fruit in your life. They will find you, "Praying".Kevin M. Jackson, M.A., M. Div.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00851550388029720495noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1207220010660358499.post-14124955195006690792014-02-12T19:55:00.000-08:002014-02-15T06:01:46.640-08:00When God Makes His Next Move!Oftentimes we can become very frustrated with the requirement to wait on God. However, we must always be cognizant of the fact that God sees everything from a different perspective. Therefore whatever may seem like an emergency to us, may not necessarily be as urgent to God. Remember, He does not have a time limit or deadline for working miracles out on our behalf. He is God!

Always keep this thought in mind. Whenever God decides to make His next move on your behalf, no one will be able to stop it. When God makes His next move it could be your healing, deliverance, blessing, promotion or miracle. Regardless of how long it takes Him to do what He does, when He moves no one can hinder Him.

Wait with the expectancy that God has everything in control. He never has to catch up, seek advice, or misdiagnosis anything. He is God! Just simply wait on His next move. It's going to be epic.

Every year the Lord gives me my focus for the upcoming new year. In 2013, the Lord gave me the following slogan: Shift, Come into Alignment, Stretch and Go Forth!

I can say without any doubt, I have indeed experienced each element of that slogan in some way throughout this year. Today, I accept the summons of the Lord to "Spiritual Maturity". Maturity in a sense means to come into full development. In essence, the Lord calls me to spiritual development in 2014. 2 Timothy 3:17, "Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us." MSG This process of maturity is in preparation for something prepared for us in a time to come.

What does this entail? How is this achieved? It will vary based on where you are in your personal walk with God. For me, He has already identified measurable objectives that I must master more effectively in 2014. For your benefit and my reminder, I will share a few of those objectives today:

1. Develop a risk-taker's attitude. My objective is to immediately embrace whatever God says without the most subtle sign of resistance. To resist even subtly is an insult to the soverignty of God. A risk-taker is consumed by the directive, message, and task and not the outcome. The task or directive is my responsibility, the outcome is God's. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

2. Pray with a greater level of trust. Trust must trump expectation. Where as I have embraced expecting more from God, I must embrace the discipline of trust so that when my expectation is not met the way I want, I can fully understand and embrace the fact that God can be trusted to make adjustments to the answers to my prayers. (Proverbs 3:5, Romans 8:28)

3. Embrace teachable moments during difficult circumstances. Often times the moment overwhelms us to the point that we miss the lesson God is trying to teach us through the situation. If God allows a situation to develop and thrive, then He has some teachable moment tucked away in the situation. We must look for it and embrace it. (Psalms 86:11)

more to come......

SCRIPTURE: Luke 10: 38-42
Is it more important to breathe or to live? Right! In order to live we must breathe. In essence, breathing and living work hand-in-hand. It is a synergistic combination. You cannot have one without the other. That is the vantage point from which I view the account of Mary and Martha as they sought to prepare for the arrival of Jesus Christ to their home.

Which posture was best? Was it more important for Martha to work or for Mary to worship Him while Jesus was in their home? Yes! Both postures were good. We must do the work of the Kingdom. We must operate in the calling of God upon our lives; but, do we work so much that we never take the time to worship?

I do not look at worship as just singing a slow song that requires you and me to lift our hands. Rather, when I say worship, I am referring to praying, meditating on the word of God, singing, dancing before the Lord, glorifying Christ, and praising the Lord for who He is.

Now let’s make a clear observation about Martha and her work. What is disturbing about Martha is she did not know when to stop working and when to begin to worship. Do you know when it is time for you to pause from the work and begin to worship? Well, allow me to share some sure signs that it is time for a moment of worship in the midst of your doing the work of the Lord. If you find yourself slipping in the areas that you once had victory, then it’s time for you to pause and worship. If your attitude about the work becomes taxing rather than service to the Lord, then it is time for you to worship. When you are too busy to take the time to worship, then it is time for you to pause and really worship.

The fact is, unless we worship Christ we will ultimately become ineffective in working for Christ. We cannot have one without the other. Martha undoubtedly thought her work was more important. However, upon inquiring of Jesus He sets the record straight once and for all. Jesus gives Martha and so many of us the diagnoses of our lives. “Martha you are worried and distracted by many things.” That is really the issue! We are distracted by things, people, and situations and the thought of worshiping Christ barely crosses our minds.

Don’t get me wrong saints! We must do the work of the Lord, but we must also learn when to pause and worship. We cannot do one without the other. Will you join me in asking the Lord to help us all to learn when to pause from the work and enter into worship?

Father, we adore you with all of our hearts. We seek to do the work of the kingdom with excellence and dedication - all for your glory. Lord, help us to discern when it is time to pause from the work and begin to worship you with everything that is in us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

This clanging is so....loud that it diffuses the words that are necessary for life everlasting. The noise stems from the dissatisfaction of those who do not respect God's way of functioning in the Kingdom. Therefore, they create noise to distract and overshadow sound doctrine and teaching, legitimate moves of God and the praise and adoration meant for the living God. They are disgruntled believers who would rather dwell on social traditions and the spiritual games of the times. They are believers who seek to say words to God but their hearts are far from Him. They are people who have turned the church into a musical phenomenon with no depth, spirit or anointing. It has become a place of entertainment and fun. All of the time they are spiritually insulting God through their behavior. Pretty soon all they become are clanging cymbals and clashing metal; noise.

This type of mentality does not give way to righteousness, ministry, evangelism and worship to God. It is a Hollywood salvation that waits on the next great attraction, buzz words and fleshly doctrine. The results are people can literally dance, shout, and make a great deal of noise, but their lifestyle and devotion to God is seriously lacking. It has literally turned many church gatherings in to a religious social club.

I am reminded of a passage in Ezra, whereby the Jews were released from captivity by King Darius to return back to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple. Upon building the foundation and the altar-a place of worship, there were persons in the crowd who could not get past the new thing that God was doing because they were so..... set on the former temple and altar. They were so disappointed that they began to create a great noise in the midst of the people. They were wailing and screaming because they remembered and only desired what they had and not what God was providing for them at that time. They were only satisfied when God was doing what they wanted. They were bent on having their way without any regard to what God wanted or desired for them. However, there arose another sound. It was not just noise, it was praise and adoration for what God had done.

The scripture text said that their praise drowned out the noise of dissatisfaction. This sound stemmed from gratitude that after 70 years of bondage and not being able to come to the place of worship. God had allowed them to rebuild their symbol of communion and intimacy with Him; the altar. These people rejoiced because they understood that if it had not been for God on their side, they could have died in captivity. They did not regard their own desires as more important, rather, they regarded the plan of God, His ways, His precepts, His will as the foundation for rebuilding their lives. Yes, they were imperfect, but they were committed to living and functioning in the Kingdom according to the will of God. They were receptive of Kingdom lifestyle and behavior. Whatever God said and wanted to do was fine with them.

No, God is not looking for perfect people to praise and worship Him, however, He is looking for people who's heart is perfect (mature) towards Him. Noise and Praise is really a matter of the heart. Noise focuses on emotions and whatever feelings people want to be expressed from the fleshly realm. However, praise has nothing to do with the individual's feelings. It has nothing to do with what the individual has done. Praise is totally focused on what God has done. He has done great things! He has delivered me! He brought me out of a bad situation. It is the acknowledgment of the wondrous workings of the Lord. God desires praise not noise that is self-centered and fleshly. Yes, make a joyful noise. Yes, this may lead to an audience with the King, but after you get an audience, you must come right before Him with intentional and deliberate praise.

My prayer for the body of Christ is that we will not major any longer in just noise and certainly not noise of dissatisfaction, but that we will rather make deliberate effort to raise up a sound of praise and adoration to our God who has and continues to do great things in our lives. Let's not just make some kind of noise, let's make intentional praise flow from our hearts to the ears of God.Kevin M. Jackson, M.A., M. Div.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00851550388029720495noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1207220010660358499.post-26001714397411194642013-07-19T06:35:00.000-07:002013-07-19T06:35:55.105-07:00The God Who SpeaksWhat is the voice of the Lord? Does He always speak in an audible voice? How do you discern the voice of the Lord from your own voice?

These questions have and continue to confound the minds of believers and non-believers alike. The what about God's voice. Many believe that God has lost His voice and He does not speak to His people anymore. I beg to differ. Who can tell God to be quiet? Who determines that He speaks no more? Who has that much knowledge of God that they can say emphatically that He is now silent? No one!

God speaks and we should anticipate Him to speak to us for He promises that He will be with us even until the end of the ages. Certainly God is not just going to be with us and not communicate with us right? Jesus said, I will send you a comforter who will teach you and remind you of all of the things that I have taught you. Surely, the holy ghost does not speak in sign language. It must communicate in some manner in which we, the limited beings, can understand.

Yes! God speaks today and forever more. He speaks through His spirit, He speaks through His word, He speaks through His prophets, He speaks through dreams and visions, He speaks through situations and circumstances. God still speaks!

You can always discern the voice of God from another voice if what is said conflicts with the word of God and the will of God that has already been revealed to you. God is not the author of confusion. He will never contradict Himself. Be careful of voices that are close or similar to something that God would say. Those similarities are just as dangerous. If in doubt, seek the counsel of a godly man or woman of God who has walked with the Lord and has impeccable spiritual integrity.

Whenever God speaks and it is actually God, whatever you do, do not ignore what He says. It is a privilege to have the creator of the universe to take the time to speak to his most imperfect creation. Rejoice in the fact, that our God still speaks and shall continue throughout eternity.Kevin M. Jackson, M.A., M. Div.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00851550388029720495noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1207220010660358499.post-81100141134338628562013-07-15T07:04:00.002-07:002013-08-02T06:01:39.312-07:00FoolishnessAfter studying 1 Corinthians 1:21-31, I began to understand the greatness of our God even the more. It is a powerful revelation that the creator, who has the option to create from pure raw materials would rather take an already blemished creation and mold it into something usable for the Kingdom of God. The world with all of its knowledge and wisdom would deemed that to be simply "foolishness".Yet God majors in what the world calls "foolishness".

The world's perspective is it is "foolishness" to take one man to die and shed his blood for the redemption of all mankind. To the world, it is "foolishness" to believe that an invisible God is interested in the well being of a people who have a choice to choose him or not. The world's wisdom cannot accept the "foolishness" that God would give up his only son just so mankind could be in right relationship with him.

I am so glad that God can take what seemingly looks like "foolishness" by the world's standards and raise a person up to have dominion and power in the holy ghost. See only God can take a person from drugs, violence, abuse, neglect, poverty, suicide, depression and puts His loving arms around them and redeem them unto himself. It may seem like "foolishness", but I along with millions of other believers rejoice in the God of our salvation over the fact that he chooses "foolishness". He chooses people who have so many flaws, people who are unfaithful, people who are unreliable to invest his valuable anointing into.

Oh, we celebrate the ability of God to take the "foolishness" of a person and transform it to loyalty, integrity, holiness, character, reliability and most of all redeemed and righteous in Jesus Christ. I don't know a great deal, but I do know that our "foolishness" is not match for our great God.
However, I want to encourage you to celebrate the men in your life who have impacted your life in a positive way. Celebrate the kind words spoken. Celebrate the firm training and discipline. Celebrate the love displayed even in your unlovable state.

Father's long to be appreciated. Society has made if more difficult to place emphasis on the great fathers, mentors and role models because of all of the negativity displayed by men who do not understand their role as a father. Nevertheless, I am certain that you have several great men in your life who you can celebrate for being an "Awesome" father or mentor.

Here are a few things that you can do to demonstrate your appreciation for the positive male in your life:

1. Spend quality time doing what your father likes to do. Just do it even it is the most simple and practical thing in the world to do. Guess what? It will make your dad so.....happy.

2. Don't buy him a tie or house slippers unless he has expressed that he needs them. Instead, give him a gift card so that he can purchase whatever he wants.

3. Take him out to his favorite restaurant. Let him order whatever he desires to eat.

4. Always give him a card that represents who he is.

5. Do something out-of-the-box. Make a video and send him a video greeting for Father's Day.

6. Call him on Father's Day. After that, try to check on your father, pops, dad, etc.. at least once a week.

7. Go watch a movie with your dad on or on another day after Father's Day.

8. Go out for breakfast or a cup of coffee.

9. Post a wonderful post on Facebook/Twitter about your dad. Tell him about it and all of the likes, comments, retweets the posts received.

10. Tell your dad just how much your appreciate him in plain and simple words.

Men generally are satisfied with the simple and practical things during Father's Day. Whatever you do, do not neglect to be a blessing to your father during this time of celebrating the men in your life. Happy Father's Day to all of the men who may read this post.

It may seem strange, but if you are depleted of joy, peace, happiness, passion, and the spirit of God, you are a prime candidate to benefit from all that the Kingdom of God has for you. In fact, Jesus said, "blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of God."

Poor in spirit literally identifies the mental and spiritual state of being in need due to an emptiness that exists in a person. This life is replete with situations that drain us of all that we have in our spirit. Sometimes it is a relationship. Other times it is the stress of the job or a personal flaw in ones character. Whatever the source of our depletion, it has the ability to slow us down, leave us impotent, and cause us to fall on the wayside and even loose faith.

The good news is Jesus has the answer for poor spirits. He has the ability to refill, revive, renew, deliver, encourage, restore joy and confidence in the life of a person who is at his/her lowest spiritual level. What must you do if you are poor in spirit? Reach out to Christ by simply saying, " I need You".

I guarantee that Christ is all you need. After you have extended the invitation for Him to come in and take residence, you will experience the joy of His grace and unconditional love. You will feel the reviving of your spirit to a place of peace and comfort.

The blessing is you are in a position to receive. You are blessed because Christ has been waiting for you to invite Him to get involved in your life. You are blessed because He not only wants to revive your spirit, but literally give you the Kingdom of God.

Will you accept His grace, mercy and love today? You do not have to be poor in spirit any longer. Regardless of what depleted your spirit, Christ can bring you back to a level of fulfillment in Him.Kevin M. Jackson, M.A., M.

Matthew 28:19-20

"Go therefore into all of the world making disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost,
teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo I am with
you always, even until the end of the age."

God has always been focused on His agenda since the beginning of time. In fact, the first man, Adam, was charged with taking dominion over God's creation along with his wife;however, Adam was not focused and allowed the enemy to come in and delay the call upon his life to demonstrate dominion.

No problem. God always knows what needs to be done. God sent His
Son, the second Adam, to come into the world and once again demonstrate for man
the Agenda of God and His Kingdom.

This agenda is found clearly in Matthew 28:19-20. The first item on the agenda
is go and make disciples of all nations. God desires that all persons come to
the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. This commission can be completed in a
number of ways. Those ways include through missionary trips, outreach in the
community, evangelistic events, use of technological tools and good ole fashion
one on one ministry.

The second item on the agenda is to lead the person to make a public
declaration of their faith after receiving Christ. This public declaration is
baptism. Declaring publicly that one is dying to sin and arising alive to
Christ as demonstrated in the sacrament of baptism.

The third item on the agenda is to teach the new disciples how to be a man or woman of the Kingdom of God. How to be
saved and live a life according to Kingdom standards. Notice, this requires a
deliberate and spirit directed effort to help the new believers grow and
develop into men and women of God. Teach them what? All that I have commanded
you. Jesus directed the disciples to teach the principles of the Kingdom to
every new convert to ensure the perpetuation of Kingdom principles.

It is safe to say that if we are not reaching out through evangelistic efforts,
demonstrating and leading new converts in the sacraments of the church and
using the gift of teaching to inform the new converts of the principles of the
Kingdom, then we may not be implementing the Kingdom's agenda.

Reflect on what you are currently doing for God. Are you implementing His
agenda or your own agenda?

However, challenges do not have any authority over the power of God. It is imperative that you rest in the assurance that God has everything in control.

Many have made resolutions about things that do not profit them spiritually, but for you, I want you to Shift. Shift! Make the necessary adjustments in your life that will sustain your walk with me. Move away from things and people who are not focused on Kingdom business. Time is of the essence! Don't miss what I am doing in the earth during this season.

Not only must you shift. You must then Come into Alignment. This is necessary because in your shifting, you have the ability to still be off course and not totally in sync with my will. There is a specific line that I have drawn in the spirit for you to begin your journey from. It is the starting place of my will for your life. The Holy Spirit will guide you through each step that you must make to align. Don't fight the process! It could prove to be harmful and discouraging for you. Time is of the essence! Come into alignment quickly.

I know that you are struggling with this new alignment. That is why I have directed you to Stretch. Stretch beyond your own expectations and see the expectations that I have for you in the spirit through prayer, fasting and studying my word. Stretch! Reach for the impossible even when it strains your spiritual muscles. Stretch! Venture into those vocations that you thought you were not qualified to do. I have made a way for you. Stretch! I require more of you than I require of those who are around you. I will not place more upon you than you can bear.

Finally, Go Forth! No need to second guess. I have spoken. Why wait? Why contemplate? Move into the things that I have already spoken in your spirit. I have already gone before you. Go Forth!

The New Year brings with it an array of emotions for many people. There are some who continue to replay the painful and disappointing events of 2012. There are also those who had an awesome year and they have resolved to take a slack posture this year because everything seems to be going so...smooth.

Well, I like the Apostle Paul, who wrote this letter to the church of Philippi from a physical posture of discomfort, but with a powerful spiritual posture of great faith and hope. Paul offers us in this dispensation a hope as well as we enter a seemingly uncertain place in the new year.

There are four things that God would say to all of us who desire to receive directions for entering the year of 2013. Well, I believe that He has already embedded those directions within the scripture text referenced above.

Point 1: You must shift your focus. This is why the Apostle Paul encouraged the saints of Philippi to forget what is behind. The things that took place in 2012 cannot be erased. You may have the opportunity to improve some of the situations, but you cannot dwell on past failures and disappointments too long. In 2013, you must move on and begin to shift your mind to those things that are ahead. It is difficult to focus on the past and embrace the future at the same time. You must let go of one of the two.

Point 2: You must come into alignment. This simply means begin to believe what God has already ordained for your life. Accept the will of God for you as a member of the Body of Christ and as an individual believer. Look at Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. He had to shift His focus off of the horrible method of death on the cross. Instead, He came into alignment with God's will because He saw your future and my future at stake. Nevertheless, Thy will be done (Luke 22:42).

Point 3: You must stretch out. In the text, the Apostle Paul directed the saints to strain forward. Stretch out. This is significant! The posture you had in 2012, it just will not work. God wants to stretch you beyond the point that you have already determined you cannot go any further. Therefore, He is going to stretch you and stretch you. He is going to stretch your faith, commitment, trust and your ability. Stretch out! Reach for it knowing God has already planned everything ahead of you. Stretch even if it hurts. Get uncomfortable! You will not regret stretching when God gets finish using you.

Point 4: You must go forth. There is no more time to contemplate. You must move and move now in that which God has called you to do. Take the first step. Walk in your calling with the assurance that you have been anointed to do the job, to preach, to teach, to witness, to sing, to serve, to lead. Go Forth!

It is simple my brother and my sister. You have only to shift-align-stretch-go forth. The Higher Calling in Christ is waiting for you!
Our minds work overtime trying to find a reasonable explanation for such an unthinkable situation. Our hearts go out to the families of the deceased children and staff. What can we do during such a crisis?

We must pray for the families who are experiencing very difficult pain and loss. Pray that the Lord will surround them with the right people who will help them grieve healthily.

We must commit to educating parents and guardians within our own sphere of influence to cover their children in prayer each day.

We must minister to children in a manner that causes them to understand the importance of having a relationship with Jesus Christ and to talk with Him daily.

We must pray for city officials and school officials for wisdom to ensure such tragedies do not happen in other schools.

We must be listening ears for persons who have no faith in God during these times of crisis. We must be the reflection of who Christ is with persons who have no faith in God.

We must attend PTA (Parent & Teacher Association) meetings to ensure that we are all informed about the numerous concerns involving our school systems. This is important whether you have children or not.

We must help our children in our churches all of the country to be little lighthouses of Christ's light everyday.

We must respond to this crisis with love, wisdom and understanding that can only be obtained from Jesus Christ.

These are only a few steps that can be taken in the wake of tragedy that involves the lives of children. One of the final things I would ask all Christians and nonbelievers alike, please love on your children a little bit more. Spend quality time with them a little bit more. Cherish the priceless moments you have with the small packaged gifts God gives us through our children a little bit more.Kevin M. The pain of a man in the middle of a devastating failure is unbelievable.
He cannot in his mind recover because he has lost so much ground. The enemy
darkens his mind to believe that there is not hope beyond the stumbling block
that he has walked into or created himself. What should he do? He should run to
the Father. However, he is too embarrassed to run even to the father for fear
of rejection. What he does not know or seem to understand is, the Father loves
him unconditionally regardless of the failure or mistake.

My brother, failure in any area of your life can feel tragic
and almost the end, but God has an everlasting love for you even in your
darkest hour. He knows you. He knows your tendencies even better than you. He
also knows the spiritual deficits that are in your walk with Him. He is more
concern with helping you ensure that you do not find yourself in the same
position again. There is forgiveness even after a great fall.

What does the Father require of you? He requires you to
confess the failure with full disclosure to Him. I know, you say, “Well, if God
already knows everything, why does He want me to confess it to Him?” He knows
everything and He knows that you will get more benefit communicating the
mistake to Him instead of holding out on Him. Tell the Lord that you are sorry
for your sin. Yes, call it what it is. Don’t sugar coat it, just call it plain
sin.

That’s actually the
first step to recovery. Admitting that there is a weakness or struggle that
causes you to sin against the will of God. Once you have confessed, then you
need to find another Christian brother whom you can trust with your struggle.
Don’t allow the enemy to convince you that you are ok. You are not! However,
you will be ok once you begin the road to recovery in Christ.

Once you have confided in a good strong Christian brother,
allow him to hold you accountable concerning your area of weakness. This may

Listen my brother! The process to recovery can be very slow,

- Philippians 3:13-14

The time has come for you to move ahead. To linger on the failures of yesterday will only prolong your journey to the things that I have already put into place for you.

I have already put into motion everyone and everything that will play a role in your future. I know that you may be disappointed and frustrated by the lack of progress in your life, but it is now time to shift your focus.

Shift everything in your life toward the goals that I have ordained for you. Waste no more time on the past. In fact, forget the past and embrace your future.

The way that I have made for you will not be easy, but I have planned ahead of you. There will be some roadblocks, disappointments and, yes, even some failures. Each time, you must shift your focus on to the next move.

The enemy of progress is to dwell on your past victories and failures too long. Right now, I am waiting for you to shift your focus. Do not prolong time. Move ahead now!Kevin M. Jackson, M.A., M. Be the Prophetic Voice

Where are the prophetic voices? Where are my people called to speak on my behalf? The voice of the prophet has been silenced and unwelcomed because of the disgrace of false prophets in the land.

Hold men and women accountable for the words that they speak on my behalf. If they are not accurate, you must address their inaccuracy. I am not pleased with the parading of my people in gimmicks and schemes.

Rise up, O mighty army of prophets, and speak to my people that you may prepare the way of the Lord your God. I am about to open the window of gifts upon my body of believers. There must be a prophetic voice in the land. I cannot use frail and fearful people who refuse to speak my Word in the arenas that I have placed them.

Rise up, O mighty army of prophets, and speak to my people that you may prepare the way of the Lord your God. I will perform miracles in your midst. For this generation must see signs to believe. I will give you the answers to the questions that you know not of. Just ask me and I will reveal great mysteries in your ears.
Well, I had the opportunity to listen to an enlightening message that spoke directly to my heart and spirit. It seems that God has a way of orchestrating divine appointments that meet the spiritual needs of his people.

I was visting Montgomery, Alabama to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. The Lord blessed us all and my mother was elated at the gathering of friends and family to celebrate her life. One of the spiritual treats was the opportunity to visit my mother's church; NCC @ Safe Harbor , pastored by Pastor Hart Ramsey. As we entered the sanctuary there was praise and worship setting the hearts of the people for the word that would soon come from their Man of God. We took our seats and started to join our brothers and sisters in a collective effort to express to our Lord and Savior that we loved Him and full-heartedly wanted to invoke His presence among us.

The pastor entered the sanctuary and began to expound on Luke chapter 6 specifically focusing on the the man with a withered hand. He spoke with clarity and simplicity ensuring that the youngest listener would be able to comprehend the Rhema word he was declaring. Oh how my soul began to rejoice within. Anytime a preacher hears another preacher declaring the word of God it ignites something on the inside to begin to agree with the word and hang upon every word spoken.

The pastor began talking about the awesome gift of "Grace". Grace the unmerited, underserved favor of God upon the life of a believer. He spoke about the different manifestations of God's grace specifically tailored for God's people. This man of God expounded on the fact that God has no desire to destroy a person who struggles, but he desires that the person seeks Him for the grace and deliverance that he needs. He noted that before we come into Christ, God sees nothing but our sin and unrighteousness. However, when we receive Christ, God only sees Jesus and the blood that was shed for us.

Pastor Ramsey directed each of us to walk in the grace of the Lord, but not to walk in sin willingly just to experience the grace of the Lord. He explained that when a person walks willingly in sin, he or she literally removes themselves from God because God cannot commune with sin. He told us to pray for the grace of God and extend the grace of God to others.

How many times do we ignore the grace that the Lord has extended to us even when we least deserved it? Now the connection with the man with the withered hand. He had a condition that he could not hide and everyone was knowledgeable about that issue. In the midst of religious people, Jesus told the man to lift it up! Lift up the issue in the presence of Jesus with the expectation that He was going to address the issue and bring about resolve. What issue do you have that is a struggle? Jesus invites us to show Him the ugliness of our lives without shame or rejection. I believe anything that the Lord reveals, He intends to heal.

This man of God shared his own testimony of when people tried to shut him down as it related to ministry, but he overcame those persons by allowing the overwhelming grace of God to defend and cover him. Also, he shared how he addressed a situation with his father at the age of 40. Well, he and I both shared a common issue with our fathers and I too addressed that same issue with my father at the age of 40 concerning him originally not receiving me as his child. When I heard that man of God speak to that issue it brought relief and deliverance that I was not the only one who had experienced such rejection and the affect it could have upon someone who sought to fulfill the will of God for their lives.

I thoroughly enjoyed the spiritual food that was prepared for all in attendance at NCC Safe Harbor. I am so thankful and elated that my mother is receiving a well prepared spiritual diet on a weekly basis. We honor God for the gift of grace that He willingly extends to all who ask for it.

Pastor Ramsey, your message and your personal testimony spoke volumes of encouragement and life as I sat under your anointed teaching. The final words, in summary, spoken by the Man of God was Stand-up! Stand-forth! with the grace of God.Kevin M. Jackson, M.A., M. Div.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00851550388029720495noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1207220010660358499.post-53368520538930383792012-07-25T04:33:00.000-07:002012-07-25T04:41:58.578-07:00You Cannot Give up!

The Apostle Paul encouraged the church of Corinth about overcoming the odds against them by trusting and believing in God in spite of the attacks and difficulties. In fact, in 2 Corinthians 4:1-18, the overall theme is "Don't give up now" or as the Apostle Paul says, "Don't lose heart".

I don't believe that saints of God start out seeking an opportunity to give up or throw in the towel. I believe that there are times in all of our lives when the conditions and circumstances in our lives are perfect for us to just give up. Have you ever been there? Have you ever felt like you had done all you knew to do, but your best seemed futile? Well, don't feel too bad. The bible is replete with men of God who reached that same point.

Look at Gideon, he wanted to give up because he felt that God had forsaken his people and Gideon had his own personal issues that served as an excuse for him to just give up. Take a look at Moses, when God first told him that he would be sent to Pharaoh to rescue the children of Israel. What did Moses do? He gave up and offered God some very good excuses, but God did not receive his excuses.

Child of God, God is not going to receive your excuses either. In fact, He is saying, "You cannot give up now!" Just look back over your life and reflect on where God has brought you from. He has rescued you time and time again.

You cannot give up because God has entrusted you with ministry. In fact, you have people that are assigned to you so that they can become a disciple of Jesus Christ.Your ministry has to help bring down the blinders that keep men and women from seeing the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.

You cannot give up because God has equipped you to complete your assignment. God does not call a person without also equipping the person He calls. In fact, in verse 7, Paul indicates that you, the believer, has a hidden treasure. The hidden treasure is the revelation of the gospel and who Jesus is.

This is your equipment! The treasure is Jesus has all power to defeat every foe. The treasure is the gospel is able to bring about salvation to anyone willing to receive it. The treasure is the holy ghost is available to lead and guide the believer. The treasure is the word of God is good for teaching, reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.

You cannot give up because God will intervene on your behalf. I know it can get difficult in the midst of the fight to live saved, to deal with opposition, to hold up the banner of holiness, but do not be discouraged, God will take care of you. In fact, the Apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:8, you can be troubled in every way, but not crushed; persecuted, but not driven to despair; struck down, but not destroyed. God has the ability to intervene in the most extreme cases for your benefit.

Finally, you cannot give up because God is going to get the glory out of your perseverance in the midst of opposition to promulgate the gospel of Jesus Christ. Your perseverance is for the sake of the people whose lives are going to be changed and transformed. In turn, God gets glorified and honored when you don't give up.

Child of God! This is not the time to give up. This is the time to trust God and do ministry because the world is ready for a people who are prepared to present Jesus in an effective way. We were taught that crying was essentially a sign of total weakness. As a result, we develop throughout our lives ignoring the obvious pain that we have from various incidents in our lives for the sake of maintaining the superman persona for the world.

I want to caution all of my brothers to not remain in silence alone. Not to continue to scream a silent scream in your head or simply resolve the total matter by displaying deep seeded anger. When pain is masked, it leads to self destruction. My brother, please don't allow the enemy and those who hurt you in the past, destroy the plan God ordained for your life. No! More! Silence!

How can you, a man, safely navigate leaving your cave of silence without losing your perception of being strong? First acknowledge that there are issues that have never been resolved and there is hope beyond the current methods you have used to mask the pain.

Second, release the guilt and pain from the experiences to Christ. How? Cast your every thought, care, anger, guilt, rejection, hurt, abandonment upon the Lord because He is so...concerned about you man. Jesus is not concerned about the perception of society and how they define weakness and strength. His perspective is in your weakness His strength is made perfect.

Third, find a strong Christian brother who you can be transparent with. Unmask and tell him the issues that cause you to hurt in silence. Ask him to commit to praying for and with you on a consistent basis. The moment you open your mouth and begin to speak about the pain of the divorce, the death of a loved one, the issues of your childhood, you will experience such a release in your spirit that you have never experienced before.

Fourth, Mediate on the word of God. Allow His word to minister to every wound that is oozing with pain. Mediate on Isaiah 26:3, " I will keep him in perfect peace who keeps his mind stayed on me." Also reflect on Psalm 91. The bible is replete with scriptures that will bring continual healing to your spirit.

Listen my brother! You do not have to remain in silence any longer. God is concerned about you and the pain that you have in your spirit. You are not alone, there are millions of men who continue to mask during the day and unmask at home never to find the deliverance and resolve they so desperately seek.
No! More! Silence!Kevin M. Jackson, M.A., M. Div.http://www.blogger.com/profile/00851550388029720495noreply@blogger.com3
